6hr Sebring Race lap times GT1
« on: February 06, 2011, 17:22:12 pm »
Anyone have an inkling of race speed in the GT1's? The speed at which you will run for 6 hours, not hot laps.... 2:05? 2:03? etc...?

Don't know about current lap times, but I just checked the results of a race we did at the Classic layout last summer. Top times were in the 2.06-2.07 region, so I guess 2.05/2.04 is a good pace. Undoubtedly there will be some faster drivers.

thanks. Good to know I am near race speed at this moment.

The faster guys will undoubtably get fuel additives (aftermarket,re:sugar) dumped in their tanks....hehe

We should make this a lap time thread for all classes instead of GT1, for practical reasons :)

I did a few laps with the saleen and think my best time was 2:01.xx in race trim. Mostly default setup, low downforce. GT2s seem to be running 2:07s and 08s on race trim so far. Haven't seen much of the faster teams/guys yet. I heard the portuguese team running in GT2 is filled with superstars so still have plenty of spying to do :)

And don't forget to mention your own 2.05 Ronster.

I did two 2.06.6 in a row but never repeated them since.  :ponder:

1'48's so far in the 908. In GT2 my best was a 2'06 in a 996.

Think I got mid 2:02's yesterday.
(GT1 Vette)
I feel my race pace will be around 2:03's.

You should probably present yourself in the introductions forum. Then click 'Join SimJunkies button'.
I think it's the best way for you to get known by SJ members, and to find mates or team to race the 6hrs.
Enjoy SJ as it has to be dude! xD

During the first test session I managed a 2:02.7 in the GT1 Aston.
Full tanks and durable tyres will paint a different picture I think.

Still, lots of tweaking and stinting ahead  :)
