WoT Mods
« on: March 14, 2012, 08:21:28 am »
Post em here!

Quick guide for install which keeps all your original files in tact.

Copy from \World_of_Tanks\res
gui and  text folders
Paste in to res_mods\0.7.3\
unzip mod files gui and  text to the same folder and allow overwrite
TO revert back to stock, just delete out of the res_mods folder

JSGME method - Download

This makes it a lot easier to swap mods in and out of your game, it's pretty easy to setup. First install JSGME into your main WoT directory.

Install this Folder tree for WG's res_mods folder: mediafire

(Also, copy your entire audio/text folders from res into res_mods/<current patch>
This will garantee that audio/text mods funcion properly.)

After doing this go to JSGME - Tasks- Create snapshot of game files (This will take some time)

Now put your new mods into the MODS folder in your WoT directory with the proper file structure

G:\Program Files\World_of_Tanks\MODS\Name of your mod here\res_mods\0.7.3

Then just enable or disable your mods to your hearts content.

The Duke replacement sound pack.

Copy your res\audio into res_mods\0.7.2 then paste in the files you downloaded. It seems to work just fine in 7.2.

This replacement pack adds some dude talking and the music?

I just didn't hear anything different from what I already hear in the game... :ponder:

One hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, how big my house was, or what kind of car I drove.  But the world may be little better, because I was important in the life of a child.

A nice icon mod with lots of options to install. I'm using the one that just shows armor values and find the normal clear ones easier to read than the white text.

A reticle and GUI mod with some useful info such as direction enemy shots came from and the damage dealt to you. - http://tommymartin.info/download/gui_mods.zip  You can see details on it here - http://tommymartin.info/?p=559

Can we mix all these mods in together or do we have to use one or the other?

You can mix them, but some mods will overwrite eachother. For example the Contour icon mods sometimes overwrite your GUI mods so you have to put on the Icons first, then the GUI update to see both of them. Use JSGME and it's easy to swap em around. I updated the first post with how to use JSGME.

We need to have a race night in tanks!  :D

Install this Folder tree for WG's res_mods folder: mediafire

This file no longer exists. Any chance it can be uploaded to SJ? Also will this work without the down-loadable folder structure?

Folder tree - http://www.mediafire.com/?qxrjjuqld4tddk1

I would not recommend using JSGME without it. If you do there will be a lot of false conflicts and makes it a pain.

Thanks for the link Bread, I actually found it but forgot to post it up here.

I got a Stream Error when JSGME thing was scanning my WoT install. I clicked OK to it and let it proceed. It ran for another 4 hours while I was upstairs and was still running when I came down and closed it.

Installed the rest of the stuff as you said and it works a treat :)

So if you get the same error I did, that probably means it was done the game scan

Cheers Bread :toast:

High res mini maps with some icon scaling options too.

http://forum.worldoftanks.eu/index.php?/topic/95330-pettingson-locastans-hd-minimap-mod-73/

Artillery reticle with some cool stuff. You have to set your vehicle and gun type in the .xml options for it to show the right stats.
