Packages

After installing a package, can the files be removed from the packages folder, or are they an integral part of the installation?

i.e. can the packages folder always be empty apart from when you are about to install a downloaded package?

1. drop rfcmp into packages
2. install
3. delete rfcmp from packages.

Packages is now empty. This is ok. Do not fear the empty space, the empty space is your friend.
