IL2 Cliffs Of Dover *Team Fusion*
#1
Hi all.

Just to let you all know.
Simjunkies has a liver server for this game. Anyone who are up for a bit of flying, join in.
The server will always be called SIMJUNKIES.ORG and will be using the OPEN PASSWORD.

The server will however not be using the vanilla game. This had many flaws and as such is the reason it died off. Until Team Fusion started releasing patches and fixes and adding content.

So our server will always be on the latest Team Fusion version. As of now that is:

Version 43:12

the mod can be downloaded from here. All in one. Version 3.00 up to version 4.312
And the instruction on how to install it is in a video format here.

or you can follow these instructions that I have nicked from http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/

Quote:INSTALLING TEAM FUSION PATCHES

Install retail version via Steam.

Five patches are needed from the ATAG forum.

Create a folder with five sub-folders for the patches.

Install 7-zip from

http://www.7-zip.org

Extract the patches to the folders you made for them.

Run the Mod Installer 3.0 application from inside the folder you made for it and follow the instructions.

Run Cliffs of Dover and select any quick mission. Load and briefly run the game as Administrator by R-click on the game launcher. Check for the new game version number in red in the bottom right of the main game screen, at this stage it should read 3.0

Exit game and run the small Mod Installer 3.01 application. Run Cliffs of Dover briefly again as Administrator.

Exit the game and run the larger Mod Installer 4.00 application. Run Cliffs of Dover briefly again as Administrator.

Exit the game and run 4.3 Mod Installer application. Run Cliffs of Dover briefly again as Administrator.

Exit the game and run 4.312 Mod Installer application. Run Cliffs of Dover. You can now play on the ATAG server.

Quick Version

Download and install the five patches sequentially running the game once in between each patch

It is important that you do exactly as instructed.

After that you will have a transformed game. It is simply just the best WW2 era flight sim out there. Nothing comes close.

Is Steam the only way to play IL2 now? I still have a disc, but I haven't played it in such a long time, I don't know where I should begin. Is Hyperlobby still around? Or should I just get it on Steam for the $2.50 plus the Dover addon?

Addon?

Cliffs of Dover is a game of its own, not part of the 1946 series.
And you do not need the game from steam if you have Cliffs of Dover on disc. Did not know they had that on, disc, but we might misunderstand each other of course.

Anyways. For 1946 I don't know. Hyperlobby is probably the only way for that one.
In Cliffs of Dover there is a lobby and it works.

Oh ok, I thought it was an addon.

Yeah, I didn't specify that I have the 1946 disc.

Thanks

I thought that could have been what you meant.
But as you have build a new PC for yourself, this is by far the best IL2 made, and with the community patches, it just makes it great. So jump on it and get it mate, you will not regret it I am sure.,

Oh yes. Nothing to actually beat that Smile
What we have on the server includes flying bombers or fighter. So if some play bombers and some gunners and some escort, we should have a grand evening.
And it is random as well, so ll one have to do is pretend to do a job as they did back when. Maybe you have some action, maybe you don't, but all part of the mission Smile
